Our Staff

Billy
Billy started working at Pedal Power in 1995 and he and his wife, Helga, purchased the shop in 2000. His 21 years of mechanic experience is a daily asset, as Billy continues to dive in and get his hands dirty. He is also a Serotta Fit specialist. In addition to being a loving father and prominent figure in the local community, Billy and Helga aspire to empower people, and bring families together through the benefit of cycling.

John
John has worked at the shop since 2007. He likes to ride mountain bikes when he has time. He is Serotta and Park Tool certified and has had training by Avid, Sram, Campagnolo, Rock Shox and Fox techs. He holds a degree in Telecommunications from the University of Kentucky.

Jane
Jane's love for bikes started as a little girl riding around the neighborhood (getting to know all the neighbor's dogs!) Now you will find her as an avid enthusiast of all sorts of bikes from road to mountain and anything in between. She's passionate about getting others involved in riding and loving bikes as much as she does. Jane is currently working on finishing her degree in Marketing.

Ken
Ken is an Idaho transplant. He has been racing bicycles since he was a young pup and has worked in bike shops in Washington, Oregon, Idaho, and California. He is an Idaho State Champion in BMX ('96) and Road Racing ('11).

Eric
Eric can’t remember a time he wasn’t on a bike! Growing up in Eastern Kentucky with the gorgeous Appalachian mountains had him riding his mountain bike and dirt jumper wherever a trail (or what could be considered a trail!) could be found. He’s no stranger to tinkering on his own bikes and aptly transitioned his hobby to his career. Ask Eric about his latest bike project! He’s always got something cool going on!

Howard
Howard (AKA Ho-Flo) is a retired Lexington Police Officer. The last 12 years of his law enforcement career, Howard was assigned to the downtown bike unit! When Howard isn't exploring the country on one of his bikes you can find him hanging out here on Tuesdays and Thursdays.

Travis
Travis found his love for mountain biking while exploring trails on the Rapphannock River in VA. When Travis isn’t riding his bike, he’s likely spending time with his cats Pippin and Rohan, reading a good book or painting.

Cameron
Before joining us here in Lexington, Cameron was wrenching at a bike shop and putting miles on his track bike as a courier all over the city of Charleston. He loves mountain biking and heads out to the trails whenever he gets the chance. Cameron is also a certified yoga instructor.

Matthew
Matthew joins us from Colorado where his love for mountain biking started. He founded "Ampt Biking", an outreach program empowering amputees through biking. Matthew is a certified NICA coach.

Dennis
Dennis aka "Captain America" is a retired Lexington Police officer but he can still be seen flying "da choppa" for the police department. He mostly hangs out here on Saturdays so drop by and tell him "Hi!"

Katherine
Katherine is back with us after time abroad teaching English in France. She's currently in grad school to teach French. With such a busy schedule we feel so lucky to have her at the shop on Saturdays! Katherine started out riding around the neighborhood with her first bike from Pedal Power! Now she has fun on both her road and mountain bike.
Charlie
Charlie is currently at UK studying mechanical engineering. He's at the shop Wednesdays, Fridays and Saturdays building new bikes. Charlie is the organizing king around here and can take a cluttered mess and turn it into a masterpiece in no time at all!

Hattie
Hattie is the organizing queen at the shop! Give her a project and she'll have it tidied to perfection. When she's not at the shop Hattie can be found on her family's farm caring for the animals or riding her mountain bike. She's still evaluating college options but in the meantime we are grateful for her help here!

Dan
